In this workshop we laugh a lot, cry a lot, grow a lot, and write, write, write. I'm a writer whose battery had run down.
This workshop gave me the jumpstart I needed to get my writing back in high gear.

As a visual artist and author who has taught many workshops on creativity, I thought I knew it all;that is, until I enrolled
in Carol Purroy's writing classes. Her ability to recognize and nourish a personal style is one I've not encountered before,
and as I finish my first novel under her tutelage, I realize I have never been so fulfilled as I am now, thanks to this generous
woman who gives her all to her students.
Mary Lee Fulkerson, basket artist and author, Weavers of Tradition and Beauty; A Basket of Blessings

Because of fear and embarrassment my stories laid like an anchor stuck in gunk at the bottom of the sea. Carol was my muse;
she reached down inside me and pulled up stories I had always wanted to tell, Through her brilliant teaching, humor and encouragement,
I am now like a cork, bobbing up and down, finding my stories and letting them flow. This opportunity to learn and grow with
one of the best writing teachers in the country is not to be missed.
Helen Stevens, Community Health Nurse. ----------------------------------------------------
I've never had so much fun or learned so much in such a short time. This workshop is magic! Carol manages to get things out
of people they didn't even know were in there!
Robert Scott, Fireman, Musician, Writer

As a writer I've attended many workshops and conferences and gotten good information from each. At the Sierra Nevada Writers
Workshop, because of its sense of community and intimacy I learned to look deeper into myself to express and write from feeling.
Carol McConkie, Author of Fat Girl/Fairy Boy

I entered Carol Purroy's class with trepidation. But I needn't have worried. With talent, wit and caring, she eased my concerns
and freed me to explore the joy of writing. I am so very grateful I walked into that class and found her.

I am lucky enough to have taken four writing courses from Carol Purroy. As both writer and therapist she has the authority
to guide us sensitively through our fears and into our hopes. She gently led me into the turbulent waters of the first scary
attempt to write my true stories. Carol supports her students with genuine appreciation and enthusiam. Under her guidance
I've developed the power to write my stories -- the good, bad and the ugly. Look for my name on a 2009 book!
Barbara Jean, Writer, Poet, Gourd Artist

Carol Purroy single-handedly ushered me into writing. Her workshop was the medium and her understanding of human nature created
the environment that made the flow go. I'm close to publishing my book.
Carol is responsible for large numbers of writers finding their paths and pursuing them. Her workshops are delightful. I look
forward to participating again whenever and wherever they are held.

Shy and introverted, I began writing about myself and my family in Carol's workshops. I soon realized that writing is an important
part of who I am. As I dove into the adventure, a previously unknown side of ME emerged. Now, quite happily, energetic bursts
of creativity surge through me. As I run to the computer I can't wait to get started.
